What size aircraft chocks do I need?

The right size depends on the plane. Small general aviation and light aircraft do fine with the compact 4 inch chocks. Bigger tires need more chock, so mid size aircraft usually take the 10 or 20 inch, and large commercial aircraft need the 24 inch. If you handle a range of aircraft, go by your largest one and keep a smaller size on hand for the light stuff.

The rope keeps the two chocks together so they pull as one. You set them on both sides of the wheel, and when you are done you grab the rope and lift the pair out in one motion, no crawling under the wing. It also means a chock never gets left sitting on the ramp, and a loose chock near a running engine is exactly the kind of debris you do not want. You can go with plain rope or the brighter yellow rope with a vinyl tubing grip if you want something easier to hold.

4" Aircraft Wheel Chocks Pair w/Connecting Rope Handle - 30 Pair Pack - AH-04R-30PK

These aircraft wheel chocks are made from extruded EPDM rubber, which is very durable, have been designed to be lightweight in wedge shape, and come with a nylon rope handle of 1/4" diameter that ties one pair of wheel chocks to another pair. The aircraft wheel chocks have been designed specifically for smaller aircraft with wheel fairings, known as "pants."

This pack includes 30 sets of aircraft wheel chocks, which means that each package has a total of 20 wheel chocks with each set having two wheel chocks attached to one another via the rope handle for ease of operation. These wheel chocks are extensively used in aircraft ground support operations, both personally and commercially.
